Day 1 Muscat

Arrive in Muscat Airport and transfer to the hotel. Relax at the hotel. Evening a brief meeting about the tour and the programme and thereafter, dinner at a restaurant in Muscat. Overnight stay at a Hotel in Muscat.

Day 2 Muscat / Wadi Al-Mayah / Wadi Al Abyadh / Muscat

After breakfast at the hotel, start geological exploration tour. Proceed to Wadi Al-Mayh to discover the attractions covered in the Muscat Geotourism Guide project. Folded strata of Sedimentary basement rock of Oman (Deformation & Tectonics). Thereafter continue to Wadi Al-Abyadh to see Moho discontinuity, layered Gabroo and dry Wadi System. Return to hotel and evening relax at the hotel. Overnight stay at a Hotel in Muscat.

Day 3 Muscat / Jabal Shams

Proceed to Jabal Shams via Wadi Bani Awf of Western Al Hajer mountains. A visit to wadi Beni Auf to explore the Mesozoic carbonate successions, an analogue for the most famous carbonate reservoirs in middle East. Followed by exploring the Precambrian rocks, which contains one of the oldest source rocks in the country. Thereafter, visit to Al-Hamra and Misfat villages to see Palm oasis in the limestone mountains at Misfat Al Abriyeen at the foothill of the Jabal Akdhar and continue to hotel in Jabal Shams. Overnight stay at a hotel in Jabal Shams.

Day 4 Jabal Shams / Birket Al Mouz / Muscat

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Grand Canyon to see Mesozoic Limestone. Thereafter proceed to Wadi Al Maidin. In wadiI Al Maidin, Cretaceous carbonate will be examined thoroughly along with the syn tectonic Late Cretaceous Aruma foreland deposits. Continue to Birket Al Mouz to see ancient Falaj system and proceed to Muscat. If time permits en- route visit ancient Tombs in Izki. Overnight Stay at a hotel in Muscat.

Day 5 Muscat / Al Duqm

Proceed to airport to take the flight to Al Duqm. After, breakfast at the hotel and visit to Duqm Rock Garden. Lunch at a Hotel in Al Duqm. Afternoon visit to Al Huqf area where you also can visit Arabian Orxy sanctuary. Overnight stay at camping in Al Huqf Area.

Day 6 Al Huqf Exposure / Al Duqm

After breakfast, continue the programme in Al Huqf to examine the glacial sediment of the Alkhalata Formation and the fluvial sediment of the Permian Gharif Formation. Overnight stay at a hotel in Al Duqm.

Day 7 Al Duqm / Wahiba Sands

Thereafter, continue the journey to the Desert Camp while crossing the dessert from Ras Al Ruwais (a journey around 120 kms into the desert) and arrival at 1000 Night Camp or similar camp in the dessert. Guests can visit to a Bedouin family living in the desert to experience their lifestyle and also see the sunset over the dunes. Overnight stay at 1000 Nights Camp or similar camp in the desert.

Day 8 Wahiba Sands / Ras Al Hadd

After breakfast at the camp, continue journey to Ras Al Hadd. En route visit Wadi Bani Khalid. Guests also can enjoy swimming in this wadi. Proceed to Ras Al Hadd and en route visit to see the pre Cambrian Plutonic rocks. Thereafter continue to the hotel in Ras Al Hadd. After early dinner, visit to the beach to see the Turtles nesting on the beach. Overnight stay at Ras Al Jinz or Similar hotel in Ras Al Hadd.

Day 9 Ras Al Hadd / Muscat

Clients can have a guided tour to see the Turtles nesting on the beach in the early morning. The tour starts at 4.30am. Proceed to Muscat through the scenic coastal Road and Evening relax at the hotel. Evening shopping at Muttra souq. Overnight stay at a hotel in Muscat.

Day 10 Departure

Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
